PC processing some precautions

1. Pre-processing of materials

PC plastic has a great water absorption, in order to obtain better processing results, the early stage to do a good drying treatment, in the drying process to control the temperature and time, if it is pure PC, the drying time to be more than 4 hours. It is worth noting that the use of recycled materials to control its proportion, generally below 20%, if mixed, to avoid the appearance of different masterbatches, so that the quality of the processed product will have a great impact.

2, the selection of injection molding machine

Regarding PC injection molding, the selection of injection molding machine is also very critical, the plasticizing system of the injection molding machine is generally required to have excellent mixing and corrosion resistance, and there are many rigid requirements for specific parameters, such as the injection speed is fast, the injection pressure can be scheduled to be wide, and it can be flexibly adjusted according to the requirements of the actual production products. The injection molding machine is stronger in terms of functionality, so that there will be more space for the processing of PC plastic products.

3, mold and gate design

The temperature of the mold in the injection molding process is very critical, for different plastic materials, to control the corresponding temperature, PC injection molding itself is better for temperature requirements, to be controlled within a reasonable range. According to the size of the product, the depth of the design of the gate is also different, in general, the gate is better, which can reduce the defects of plastic products, and the flow path should be short and round, so the effect will be better.

4, injection molding processing melt temperature requirements

The injection temperature can be determined by air injection method. General PC processing temperature is 270-320 ¡ã C, some modified or low molecular weight PC is 230-270 ¡ã C.

5, the injection speed of dust-free injection molding

More commonly used faster injection speed molding, such as electrical switch parts. Common for slow ¡ú rapid prototyping.

6. Back pressure

The back pressure of about 10bar can be properly reduced in the case of no gas lines and mixed colors.

7. Retention time

If the residence time is too long at high temperature, the material will degrade, emit CO2, and become yellow. Do not use LDPE, POM, ABS or PA to clean the barrel. Use Photoshop to clean up.

8, dust-free injection molding precautions

Some modified PC, due to too many times of recovery (molecular weight reduction) or uneven mixing of various components, easy to produce dark brown liquid bubbles.

The reason why injection molding transparent PC is not transparent enough

1. Poor quality of raw materials.

The production of transparent PC requires the selection of high-purity raw materials, and strictly control the parameters in its processing, such as temperature, pressure, speed, and so on. If the quality of raw materials is poor or improper control during processing, it will lead to insufficient transparency of the product.

2, injection molding process problems.

Injection molding is a high-precision processing method that needs to be carried out at a certain temperature, pressure and time. If there is deviation or non-standard operation in the injection molding process, it will affect the transparency of the product. When the melt fluidity is too strong or too weak during injection molding, it will lead to bubbles or heat shrink marks on the surface of the product, thus affecting the transparency.

3, mold design and manufacturing problems.

Mold is a crucial part of injection molding, and its design and manufacturing directly affect the molding effect of the product. If the design and manufacturing of the mold is not reasonable, it will lead to problems such as the surface of the product is not smooth, the color difference is large, and the deformation is deformed, thus affecting the transparency.
