PPSU processing blow molding steps

1. Preparation of raw materials

Prepare the appropriate amount of PPSU particles, which have been dried and screened.

2. Melting

PPSU particles are placed in a high-temperature melting device and heated above their melting point so that they are completely melted into a viscous flow state.

3. Injection

The melted PPSU is injected into the cavity of the mold to form the desired shape of the embryo.

4. Blow molding

Compressed air is injected into the embryo, causing it to expand within the mold and fit the mold cavity wall, which is cooled to form the desired container shape.

5. Release mold

The container is removed from the mold for subsequent modification and processing.

6. Embellishment

The appearance of the container is polished, cut or printed to improve its aesthetics and practicality.

7. Testing and packaging

Containers are inspected for quality to ensure they are free of defects and then packaged for sale or use.

PPSU processing and forming conditions

1, molding temperature

The melting point of PPSU is around 260¡ãC, so the key to the molding process is to control the heating temperature. The ideal molding temperature is usually between 180¡ãC and 230¡ãC. Too high or too low a temperature can cause the material to decompose or deform.

2. Pressure and speed

Due to the poor flow of PPSU's melt, a higher injection pressure (usually 150-400MPa) and a slower injection speed (10-30mm per second) are required to ensure that the molten material can fully fill every corner of the mold.

3. Mold design

Due to the compact molecular structure and high crystallinity of PPSU, attention should be paid to avoid shrinkage and deformation of the melt during cooling. It is recommended to use a mold design with short flow path and moderate wall thickness to ensure uniform filling and rapid cooling of the melt.

4. Post-processing

The molded PPSU plastic requires post-treatment, such as drying and curing, to remove residual moisture and volatiles, making the material harder and more stable.

5. Other precautions

In the injection molding process, the injection speed and pressure, as well as the mold temperature and cooling conditions should be strictly controlled to prevent the occurrence of bubbles, shrinkage holes and other problems. In addition, PPSU materials have poor fluidity and require the use of high-viscosity screws and nozzles.

PPSU products processing common problems and solutions

1. Bubbles appear

Bubbles are a common problem in PPSU products mainly due to high mold temperature or too fast injection speed. The solution is to reduce the mold temperature, slow down the injection speed, and increase the injection time and the second stage injection time so that the gas has enough time to discharge the mold.

2. Shrinkage occurs

PPSU products will shrink during the cooling process, and if they shrink too much, they will become deformed. The solution is to properly increase the mold temperature during the processing process, slow down the cooling rate, and increase the injection time and injection pressure appropriately in order to make the material better fill the mold cavity.

3. Cracks appear

It is mainly caused by unreasonable mold design or mold temperature is too low. The solution is to check whether the mold design is reasonable, and modify it in time if there is a problem. At the same time, the mold temperature and processing temperature can be appropriately increased, and the injection speed can be slowed down, so that the material can flow better and fill the mold cavity.

4. Silver veins appear

It is caused by too much water or volatiles in the PPSU material, and the solution is to check whether the material is dry to ensure that there is no water or volatiles in the material. At the same time, the mold temperature and processing temperature can be appropriately increased, the injection time and injection pressure can be increased, so that the material can flow better and fill the mold cavity.

5, appear opaque or inconsistent color

It is due to the quality problems of PPSU materials, the solution is to check whether the materials are qualified, and replace them in time if there are problems. At the same time, the processing temperature and processing time can be appropriately increased in order to make the material better plasticized and evenly mixed.
